Discoveries on the roudtrip of Kassandra

For this roundtrip a motor vehicle is required. The tour on this route begins in Kallithea and ends back there but can be launched optionally also from nearly every village on this ring-road on this peninsula. The tour has a distance of about 85. It keeps track of most coastal cities of Kassandra. It is recommented to consider detours and several stops by discovering some of the many impressive places, plateaus with an amazing panoramic view, old buildings, ancient sites, natural harbours, impressive rock-formations and natural areas of the peninusla.  Beside many other attractions you have the possibility to visit in Nea Skioni the historic seaside chapel from the 16th century.

Discoveries on the trip Kassandria - Solina

The Route starts in Kassandria, central of the peninsula of Kassandra to the archeological site of the early-Chirstian basilica in the area 'Solina'. The basilica was built in the early 5th century. It is assumed that the basilica, including the cemetery, belonged to an neighboring ancient settlement. The floor of the former building is still covered with well-preserved mosaics. Along this hike in June/July you will see endless fields of sunflowers.

Discoveries on the route Kanistro - St. Nikolaos

This  difficult route will lead through the cape-area of the peninsula Kassandra. On this tour you discover the the beauty of untouched nature and crest hills which award you with a fantastic view over the cliffs of the cape including the natural-harbor of St. Nicolaos. During this trip you may visit the unique, little church of St. Nikolaos which was re-built of the stones of an ancient temple. Some elements of this sanctuary can still be seen in the walls.

A beautiful path into the center of the peninsula Kassandra. The tour starts in Kassandria and leads through the inland to the old mountain village Fourka. During this interesting tour you pass the 'Lekani'-area ('basin'-area), known as the place with famous natural ice-cold water from the fountain of Epanochori near the chapel of St. Athanasius (built 1930). Close to Fourka you can visit a very old church to admire its frescoes (Virgin Malfroutsa).

Discoveries on the trip Hanioti - Nea Skioni

The route starts in the coastal village Hanioti and is directed into the peninsula. During the walk  you get on a plateau from which you have a fantastic view above New Skioni and the Thermaikos Gulf. The trip also covers 4 churches worth seeing and leads into Tsaprani. This village was located in the mountains but finally abandoned in the year 1930. After passing the inland you reach the beatiful fishing-village on the opposite site of the peninsula.

The tour continues through the Kalandra-related seaside-village Posidi and ends at the lighthouse on this cape. It's highly recommended to visit the Sanctuary of Poseidon and to be equipped with a camera.

Discoveries on the hike Sani - Welnads of Nea Fokea - Gerani

Beginning in the port area of Sani, this route passes through a green forest and an impressive wetland of the nature protection area (Natura 2000) of the region 'Nea Fokea'. This nature protection area contains beside a wide  forest also several lakes and is home for over 50 percent of all native bird-species in Greece are indigenous. The tour continues to the archeological site of 'Gerani'. A impressive excavation of pre-hellenic ruins and tombs located directly on a beatiful beach area.  and heads back to the point of departure. The archeological landmark on this trip is the archaeological excavation of an ancient roman property in the area of great Kalypsa.
