Joanna Lourantaki was born in 1980 in Thessaloniki. For some time she moved to Chalkidiki where she is engaged in arts. Painting she learned autodidactic at young age. After completing her education, she coached ‘pedagogical arts’ in a home for children.
After her education, she worked in a home for children in the art education area. During her period of education as a nurse at the Technical Education Institute of Lamia, she wrote several articles for the art section of the magazine ‘Free Passage’ (Greek "Ελεύθερη Διάβαση").
In the period of 2006 – 2010 she took the opportunity to participate in various artistic programs. She attended painting workshops, seminars for Byzantine iconography and historical paintings as well as workshops for crafts and handmade jewelry. These seminars awakened her passion for artistic design.
Since 2014 Joanna is member of the artist association SKETP in Polygyros. She participated in many collective exhibitions organized by the association: photography, iconography, crafts and jewelry. Her favorite working materials are: wood, metal, stone, sequins, beads, clay, artistic plaster, fabrics, baked silkworm cocoons, as well as acrylic paints, oils, varnishes, glass and liquid glass.
Recently Joanna is also focused on face- and body-painting and is intended to develop this skill. Seasonally she offers body paintings on festive occasions.
